5/10/2023 - Race 5 - Dokkalfar(1) - Mike claimed Dokkalfar(1) for $45 and the horse went on to win 11 races for him which was the most for any male he owned and earned $428.24 while with Mike. This race is modeled after the last race Dokkalfar(1) won and is an OCL at 6f on the dirt. It has bonus credits of $75 which is also sponsored by the SRF Writers.
Race 6 - Mike La Rosa Stakes - The single biggest purse amount that Mike won was in the Grade 1 BC Mile on Nov 2nd, 2013 when March Madness(2) finished 3rd. Mike never had a horse win a grade 1 but he did notch a Grade 2 win on Mar 26, 2014 in the Muniz Memorial Handicap also with March Madness(2). The Mike La Rose Stakes will be modeled after the BC Mile and is an open allowance for 3+ at 1m on the turf and has bonus credits of $200 sponsored by the SRF Writers.
All the bonus credits in the above races will be paid with normal payout percentages to the top 4. The races will not split and entries will be selected in the same manner as stakes races are with horse earnings per race in the last 2 yrs. Thank you to the sponsors of the races.
