The update to the race engine will still take place for free races at PEN starting tomorrow. If everything goes according to plan all other tracks will be included in the update starting on Jan 20th.
We have decided to go with a smaller update as to not change too many moving parts at one time. We will continue to review if any further updates might be able to further improve the engine. There are 2 pieces to the focus of this update. First, there will be a more defined separation out of the starting gate based on horse ability coming out of the starting gate. We believe this update will help address concerns and things that have come up when horses previously have ended up being strung out wide early in races.
Secondly, horses given instructions other than positional instructions will care a little less about what other horses are doing around them primarily in situations where they are trying to keep up with horses in front of them. It is a very minor adjustment.
